Our adventure into the world of chinchillas began in 1998. Tracey worked in an elementary school classroom that had a pet chinchilla named Raisin. He came home to visit over Christmas break, and the entire family fell in love. We soon had two of our own, then four, and at the end of the school year, Raisin came home to stay. The rest, as they say, is history, and now we are raisin' chins!
As we learned more about these wonderful animals we began to add to our herd. An experienced breeder in Missouri became our friend and mentor, adding much to our experience and knowledge. We attended shows in our area and learned even more. We were able to improve the quality of the chinchillas we raised, and our hobby breeding began. We continue to learn all we can, and are MCBA members. We feel that while quality is important, we also want to raise chinchillas that will be healthy, social pets. Our chins receive daily interaction, and our young chins are used to being handled.
We now have almost all varieties of colors, however availability varies. Please check our adoption page to see what we currently have available for adoption. We offer education and ongoing support to those adopting our chinchillas so that our babies will continue to be healthy and happy.
